Ahhh coconut oil. One of my most favorite items. There are so many different coconut oil uses – that stuff is amazing, I tell ya!

You can use coconut oil in the kitchen, of course, but did you know that you can also use it as a beauty product? As a health product for cuts and scrapes? You can even use coconut oil on your baby and your pets. It’s a miracle product, really.

If you don’t have a jar of coconut oil in your home, go and pick one up! You are missing out on some good stuff.

  1. Replace butter and oil in cooking/baking.
  2. Make homemade diaper rash cream.
  3. Fade age spots by applying coconut oil directly to the spot.
  4. Use coconut oil as aftershave to avoid clogging pores and treat razor burn.
  5. Make your own homemade body scrub.
  6. Apply to bug bites to stop the burning and itching.
  7. Soften your lips by applying a bit of coconut oil to them.
  8. Make your own homemade deodorant.
  9. Apply to a cotton swab and use to remove makeup.
  10. Use to prevent dry, cracked nipples during breastfeeding.
  11. Have a sun burn? Apply coconut oil to get some relief.
  12. Make your own homemade toothpaste.
  13. Breastfeeding? Coconut oil increases your breast milk supply.
  14. Cure nausea by applying coconut oil to the inside of your wrist and forearm.
  15. Apply to cuts, bites and dry skin on your pets (or yourself!).
  16. Coconut oil helps sedentary dogs feel energetic! Also helps them to lose weight.
  17. Eliminates or reduces bad breath on dogs.
  18. Mix equal parts coconut oil and baking soda and use as your very own “Goo Gone”.
  19. Polish furniture by mixing coconut oil and a small amount of lemon juice together and applying to your furniture.
  20. Make your own homemade soap.
  21. Rub coconut oil onto your pregnancy belly to help sooth itchy skin.
  22. Remove “cradle cap” by applying coconut oil to your baby’s head a few times.

Can’t you see all of the amazing things that coconut oil can do? Like I said, if you don’t have any in your home, go out and get some. You won’t be sorry!

      Oh thank you for the additional site! You can also mix coconut oil with apple cider vinegar to get rid of lice. Worth a try. I kind of doubt it increases your milk supply, but maybe someone has experienced that.

    My hair is naturally curly and gets very dry this time of year.I add a dap of oil into the palm of my hands and rub through,then use a curling iron,and the hair becomes sleek smooth and shiny.
    I will definitely try it for the age spots as well.!

    Just a reminder that coconut is an allergen. My son has really bad eczema and we had many people suggest using the coconut oil, I finally gave in, and it basically ate his skin as he was allergic to it 🙁
    So like anything else although it might work great for other be careful when first using it with your children (or yourself)
