Canadian Daily Deals – the Best Sites
Daily deal sites have been around for a while now, and I thought it was about time that I talked about them. When I saw my first daily deal site, I honestly thought it was some type of scam. There’s no way companies would offer up to a 90% discount on their services/products, would they?
After over a year of watching and purchasing from deal sites, I can honestly say that yes, they would!
If you’re not aware, daily deal sites are websites that offer local deals at a discount of 50%-90% off the regular price. All you have to do is give them your email address and let them know what city you live in, and you will be sent a new daily deal every day (or you can just visit their websites when you feel like it).
The types of deals available vary from restaurants, clothing stores, beauty services, etc. Some daily deal sites are now even offering grocery items and travel packages for fantastic prices.
The Best Canadian Daily Deal Websites:
Groupon
Groupon (Canada & United States) – Groupon is the most popular daily deals website out there. They offer deals for clothing, restaurants, exercise classes, and more. Instead of using a credit card, you can also pay for your purchase by using Groupon Bucks. You earn these bucks by referring people to the site. If someone signs up and makes their first purchase within 72 hours of clicking the link you email them, you will earn a credit of $10.
Groupon also offers travel deals and “goods” (actual products instead of classes, etc.).
WagJag
WagJag (Canada) – WagJag is my favourite daily deals website. I have seen many great deals on there (some that I have been too slow to snag and missed out on) for a variety of different things! The savings are so good that you will want to keep checking the site so that you don’t miss out on anything. WagJag offers more than just their regular daily deals – they offer grocery, golf and travel deals as well.
As for their referral program, you will receive a $10 credit in your account when each new person you refer makes their first purchase.
Dealfind
Dealfind (Canada & United States) – You can find many great deals on Dealfind. Recent deals have been for massages, laser hair removal, house cleaning and restaurants.
When you refer someone to the website and they make a purchase, Dealfind automatically credits you for the purchase with a portion of its value (and they pay you in cash).

There are some deals on these that you have to be VERY careful of. SOME of the deals for a years worth of laser hair removal treatments and other year long deals from small salons ARE a scam. What the company does is sell a bunch of vouchers, then change the name of the salon making the vouchers void.
There is also a kids daily deal site, its kidsteal.com, and on that site they have crawldeal, for babies as well.. some pretty good priced kids stuff on there.. 🙂 I believe they also have scrapbooking stuff as well 🙂 Check it out!!
It is also good to check out http://onespout.com/. They collect all the deals and send one email with groupon, wagjag, ect. I signed up for onespout then deselected the daily emails from each site, so I have less email.

I agree that daily deals are awesome, Living Social is another one that wasn’t mentioned. I have bought deals from each one but the spa ones are definately something to watch out for. I usually go and check out the salon’s website and if its something I think I will use soon then I get it, if not I pass on the deal. I’ve had situations where an employee did the deal and kept all the money and left the company, another one was for a cleaning service that returned calls and was unable to book a date, the same thing happened with a photo session. On the flip side I have gotten great deals on oil changes, car washes, dinners etc. But I usually stick to my local area with these types of deals unless its a company that I know and recognize and has a good rep. Daily deals are great but you need to read the fine print and do a bit of research.
I will have to check out Dealfind! Wagjag is usually our “go to” simply because of the deals they offer on meats that we can pick up from our local grocer, but Groupon has been catching my interest more and more lately!
Had a great shopping trip at giant tiger today. Bought cascades toilet paper, on sale for $2.77,I paid only $0.77 each, couldn’t help myself so I bought 9. Jane’s chickens nugget, on sale for $4.99, paid $2.99 with $2.00 coupon, bought 2. So excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There’s a new site launching, I have heard a lot of buzz about it called http://www.dealzilla.ca hasn’t launched yet but from what I have researched It is suppose to out play all the competition by adding some sort of uniqueness. I stumbled upon a document regarding the site so apparently they have a rating system as well as a online shopping agent for any questions or concerns.
