Here is a frugal tip that I received from a reader.
I buy 90% off my concert tickets off of eBay. I’m surprised at how many of my friends are still shocked at how little I pay for tickets. I buy tickets for in the states, Toronto & London.
Sunday night my husband & I went to see U2 in Michigan. I bought the tickets off of eBay a week ago after watching auctions for a few days. I paid $52 (Canadian) for 2 tickets that would’ve cost over $200 to get from Ticketmaster. They were side view but we knew the stage was 360 so they would be moving around. But even the side view was great when they were at the front!
Some deals that I have been able to get:
Britney Spears & PCD (Toronto) – $85 each (Facevalue $108+ service fee) ROW 5, dead center
Nelly Furtado (Detroit) – $34 for 2 (FV $76++) Row 11
Stone Temple Pilots (Detroit) – $46 (FV $58++) Row 2
Stone Temple Pilots (Ontario) – $75 ($110++) VIP general admission
Justin Timberlake with Pink (Detroit) – $75 each ($139++) Row 2, dead center.
Eric Clapton (Toronto) – $75 for 2, side view Row 14. Face value was over $300.
Other concerts below facevalue have been, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, NIN, 3 Days Grace, Christina Aguilera, NKOTB, City And Colour, Black Eyed Peas, Fergie, Smashing Pumpkins, Kayne West, Rihanna, Akon, etc.
I usually find the best deals 2 weeks before the concert.
It’s also great to buy tickets for sporting events through eBay.
We buy Detroit Red Wings (actually had them for $11 a seat one time!!!), Maple Leafs, Blue Jays & Redsox.
To get deals on Maple Leafs tickets you usually have to wait until 2 days before the game.
If you can go to the US, the deals are always much much better.
