I have really been slacking in my organizing/cleaning of the basement. I admit it, I’m lazy. I really need to step it up and get some kind of routine going for down there.
Today I decided to tackle the stockpile area. It took me two and a half hours to finish. I cleaned every single item on every single shelf (yes, really) and then cleaned the shelves as well. We’ve been doing alot of sanding down there lately so there was dust EVERYWHERE. Note to self – don’t use the sander in the house.
I was extremely ruthless when it came to my for sale/donate shelf. Things that I have been trying to sell for months that still haven’t sold, went right into the donate pile. I also have a bunch of stuff to donate that I pulled from my stockpile as well.
The stockpile is now nice and organized. YIPPIE!
Here’s what the basement looked like before I started:
This was the view when you walked down the stairs:
Ew. And wow, totally not safe! Oopsies!
Here’s what it looks like down there now:
Check out all of the stuff I found to donate:
This was all the garbage:
Not too bad!
We had a bunch of stuff to bring upstairs:
Finally – it was done! Oy. My back hurts.
This is only part one of the basement cleanup. I still have to organize the storage section as well as the gift area and laundry area. That will have to wait until next week. I’m tired.
