Here are the kitchen pictures I told you I would post today! I’m so glad the kitchen is finished. I can’t wait to move on to my next room – the dining room! That room has been an eyesore for over a year now and it’s time to spice it up!
This is my beautiful pantry. I added some bins (with labels of course – duh!) to seperate categories. In the bins are condiments/cooking ingredients, tea & hot chocolate stuff, snacks, misc., SPRINKLES!, and of course, a big bin of potatoes. Yum.
Next up is the fridge. Again I added some bins with labels. Now when people open my fridge doors they will roll their eyes at me – but it’s okay. I like being a bit OCD with my organizing. Whatevs! The bins in the fridge hold leftovers/fruit, vegetables, eggs, misc. and the two bins in the drawer of the fridge hold margarine and cheese.
I am probably the most excited about this spot. I know, it’s just two shelves with a bunch of stuff on them but this space has been naked and cold FOREVA and it was really sad. My bestie hung the shelves for me and they now display some cute little trinkets in the kitchen colours – red, brown and white. CUTE!
OMG. I can’t believe I’ve lived with those shiteous plates for so long. I think I’ve had them on the wall for like, 2 months? Maybe 3. They were an ugly yellow/orange colour and had various fruits on them. EW. I spray painted them in the kitchen colours and now they look sexy. I also bought 2 big pet food containers (they were previously big, ugly tubs that sat in the dining room) and have a bigger set of water dishes for the animals.
I bought some simple white shelves for the kitchen cabinets to seperate the different sizes of bowls and plates. I love them! I can’t wait until I find a great deal on dinnerware so I can get rid of the ugly crap that we use now. Until then, this is what our cabinets look like!
Do you see my lovely pitcher by the fridge? The one holding my wooden spoons and the like? Isn’t it BEEEEEEEAUTIFUL? I love it. I found it at a yard sale for $2 and I honestly think it’s my favourite piece in the kitchen. To the left of the stove you will see a big chunky candle holder that I bought at the thrift store for $2 (it was a puke green colour, but I saw the potential!) but I painted it brown and now it’s perfect! There’s also one of our old plates that I painted red and put a big H (our family initial) on with some ceramic paint. It looks pretty crappy up close, I’ll be honest – but from far away it is absolutely slammin’! Right? Oh, I also clearned the junk off of the top of the fridge and now I have my cake stand up there with some wicker balls inside. I love that thing. It’s a shame I don’t make cake more often.
So what do you think? Did I do a good job? I love this room now. It’s the only room in the entire house that is 100% FINISHED. Words cannot express how amazing it feels to have one less thing to stress about.
I will now spend the next 2 weeks organizing and decorating the dining room. Wish me luck! I have a feeling this is not going to be easy.
