Visit any Rexall in-store location, or download the mobile app and register for a digital card.

Step 2. Create a Be Well account

Open an account and register your card using the app or by visiting letsbewell.ca. You will need to provide an email address, birth date, and postal code and create a password for your account.

As with most accounts that you open online, an email will be sent to verify your account.

Step 4. Connect to Your Nearest Pharmacy

How Much Is A Rexall Be Well Point Worth?

You’ll earn 10 points for every dollar you spend at Rexall. 25,000 points have a redeemable value of $10, which means that 1 Be Well point has an earn rate of .4%. As loyalty rewards programs go, it isn’t great. The good news is, there are several ways to increase your cashback when shopping at Rexall.

How Can I Maximize My Cash Back Rewards at Rexall?

In addition to the standard 10 points per dollar, Be Well members can earn lucrative bonus rewards by taking advantage of offers on the shelf and via the Be Well app.

For example, in checking out the Be Well website, I saw a limited time offer for 15,000 points when you spend at least $30 in-store. There are also offers for specific products. You might earn 200 or 300 points when you purchase an item. When you register your account and provide Be Well with your email address, you’ll be able to upload weekly offers onto the Be Well app.

Stack Rewards with a Cash Back Credit Card

Another way to multiply your earnings at Rexall is by using a cashback rewards credit card when you shop. Imagine combining your .40% Rexall cashback with a credit card that earns 1.5% on every dollar. Throw in some Rexall bonus offers, and chances are you’ll earn over 2% on every dollar you spend.

Although Rexall doesn’t have its own branded credit card, several cards will do the trick. The BMO World Elite Cash Back Mastercard pays 1.5% cashback on all purchases, and the Tangerine Money Back Credit Card is a no-fee Mastercard that lets you earn 2% on two spending categories of your choice.

Rexall Be Well isn’t just about earning loyalty points when you shop; the pharmacy features make it easier for you to manage your health and wellness.

You can submit your prescription to a Rexall Pharmacy by taking a picture using the Rexall App, and you’ll receive a notification when it’s ready for pickup. You can also order refills on the app and keep track of your medical history. All of this means less time spent waiting in line and fewer trips to the pharmacy.

Rexall Be Well vs. PC Optimum

You may be wondering how well Rexall’s Be Well stacks up against PC Optimum, which is the rewards program of another Canadian drugstore giant, Shoppers Drug Mart. The short answer is that, well, it doesn’t quite make the grade.

To begin with, Shoppers PC Optimum gives you 15,000 points for every dollar you spend, and you’ll only need to reach 10,000 points before reaching a redeemable value of $10. This equates to a cashback of 1.5%, versus Be Well, which is only .40%

Not only is the basic earn rate higher with PC Optimum, but you can also earn points even faster by making purchases with one of their PC branded credit cards. Not only that, but the PC Optimum program includes other major retailers, including the Loblaws grocery store chain and hundreds of Esso gas stations across Canada.

It isn’t a knock against Rexall, mind you. The Shoppers loyalty program has been around for years, and Rexall Be Well is just getting started. I would suspect that the Rexall program will grow and improve over time.

Rexall Be Well Mobile App

As mentioned, Rexall has it’s own mobile app for iOS and Android devices, and its features elevate Be Well from the status of being “just another loyalty rewards program”. The Be Well app lets you upload bonus offers and earn cashback by scanning the app in-store. When you connect it to your local Rexall pharmacy, you can take a photo of your prescription and submit it directly to the pharmacy. You can also manage your medications on the app, making it easy to recall past prescription details.

Who Is Best Suited for Rexall Be Well?

After reading my Rexall Be Well review, you may be wondering who is best suited for the loyalty program. Purely from a rewards standpoint, it falls short of Shoppers PC Optimum. That said, the Be Well reward values could very well improve over time. The program has only been around for six months, after all.

Taking a more holistic view, the Pharmacy and Wellness features of the Be Well app make it standout. Imagine the time you’ll save by making fewer trips to fill prescriptions. That’s a valuable thing.
