Wondering what to buy in December? Look no further!
As I’m sure many of you know, stores follow a yearly sales cycle, so with a few exceptions, you can usually anticipate finding the same products on sale at the same time every year.
Here’s what you can expect to find on sale in December:
Christmas is only a few weeks away, and a popular Christmas gift for children is, of course, toys.
Stores will be tempting you to buy these toys from them by offering deep discounts. Do your research to find out which store has the toys you are after at the lowest prices.
Do you plan on cooking up a big turkey dinner for your family on Christmas day or Christmas Eve? December is the month to pick up that bird! There will be sales on top of sales for turkey’s this month, so don’t pay full price for one.
Foil & Plastic Wrap
With all the cooking and baking going on this month, you are going to see many sales on things like aluminum foil and plastic wrap to help you with these holiday tasks. Stock up for the year (if you can), because this is when these items are priced at their lowest.
Along with aluminum foil and plastic wrap, you can also find low prices on baking ingredients, as many people start baking their Christmas treats.
Look for chocolate chips, flour, oil, eggs, baking powder, sugar, and everything else you need for holiday baking.
Electronics are one of the most requested Christmas gifts, so you can expect to see many sales on these items in December, as stores try to sell as many as possible before Christmas.
Look for computers, televisions, cell phones, DVD players, iPods, and other electronics.
The demand for tools is very low in December, so in an effort to continue to sell these items, stores are lowering the prices by quite a bit.
Tools make great gifts as well, so these are always a good buy when priced low enough!
The best time of the year to buy a GPS navigator is in December, because many people request this item for Christmas.
You will likely be able to find sales on GPS navigators through the end of December (Boxing Day is when they are often priced extremely low!).
Stores anticipate that families will be doing a lot of holiday cooking in December, so cookware is always discounted this month.
Look for sales on everything cookware related, such as pots & pans, casserole dishes, cooking utensils, and more.
Dealers want to meet end-of-year quotas and because of this, they are slashing the price on many vehicles on their lots (especially vehicles with strange colours).
If you really need a vehicle and want to a good bargain, December is the time to buy.
Watch for sales on this “Christmas beverage” in December, since the only time most people drink it is at Christmas time!
Starting on Boxing Day, you can expect to find Christmas merchandise on sale at 50% off or more at most stores (especially food items, since these can likely not be put out for sale again next year).
Look for gift wrap, gift bags, ribbon & bows, stockings, Christmas trees, Christmas lights, Christmas candles, chocolates and much, much more.
Produce on sale in December:
Bananas, Kiwi, Lemons, Oranges, Pears, Pomegranates, Tangerines, Beets, Cabbage, Carrots, Cucumber, Lettuce, Mushrooms, Okra, Onions, Peppers, Potatoes, Squash, Sweet Potatoes, Tomatoes
Waiting until just the right moment to buy something is one of the best things you can do to save money. Unless you need it right away, hold off on any purchase you need to make until it is the best time to buy.
