How To Save Money By Shopping At Amazon.ca

Amazon Canada

It can sometimes be challenging to find good deals when you’re shopping online. Unlike shopping in a store, you can’t look around at actual physical items with price tags, you can’t talk to store associates, and then of course you have to deal with shipping – and that can really add up.

The good news is that more and more Canadian retailers are going online all the time, which means that we can get around the higher shipping prices, duty fees and such that you have to deal with when you shop on a US website. A lot of online stores are offering free shipping too, sometimes with a reasonable minimum order.

So, how to save? If you’re looking for specific brands, sometimes the best bet is just to go straight to the outlet website and see if they have good deals. But if you’re doing general shopping, my favourite way to save is to visit a website superstore that offers a lot of different things. That way, you can squeeze a lot of items into one order and get free shipping on the whole thing.

Amazon.ca is one of the best online superstores in Canada. Hunting for deals on Amazon marketplace can be a bit of an art form, since prices change often and it’s such a massive store with many merchants to choose from. A good place to start is the Deals Store for some of the better deals available at the moment. It’s important to remember that there’s no way to lock in a price. If you add something to your cart and come back a few days later, the price might be different.

One of the nice things about Amazon.ca is that you can get free shipping when you spend more than $25. Not all items are eligible but a lot of them are, marked as “Eligible for FREE Super Saver Shipping”, including some of the larger stuff like office printers and even some small furniture items. The Super Saver-marked items tend to be those sold directly by Amazon, and not one of their merchants.

You’ll sometimes find coupons for various items at Amazon.ca – although there haven’t been a lot of these recently – which you enter once you’ve already started the checkout process. Before checking out, be sure to always do a quick search in Google (or our Amazon page) to see if there are any valid coupons available that you can use.

The best way to shop at Amazon is really just to jump in and be smart about choosing prices and shipping. It’s a great place to do comparison shopping, since you have a variety of merchants and comparable products to check out, as well as reviews and specs. It might not always have exactly what you’re looking for, but it’s a good place to start.

Have you learned any other tricks for shopping on Amazon, or other online superstores that you use?

Many points websites will reward you with gift cards for amazon.com/amazon.ca this includes swagbucks, superpoints, irazoo, zoombucks etc. I am a member of all these sites and redeem for amazon gift cards regularly, which means I get free stuff every month, that’s my trick I guess. I prefer amazon.com though cause they have more variety, but you will end up paying more for shipping, which doesn’t matter because it’s free (this way) anyhow.

I may not be getting the whole shopping experience from Amazon, because i mainly use it to buy BOOKS. For people that like reading BESTSELLERS when they come out (sometimes, there is a certain delay (and reservation lists) at the library, Amazon.ca has a 50% off section of the Globe&Mail bestseller list: fiction, non-fiction, paperback – those prices are better than the prices i’ve seen in person at Chapters or Indigo… – free shipping over $25… – just putting it out there for Bestseller readings that want it ‘now’ (or… in a few shipping days..), if it can be helpful at all… Have a nice day!! 🙂
